Natural hops

Aroma or bitter hops in the form of dried cones are called cone hops. The bitterness of the hops is given in % alpha acid. Hops are mainly used for flavouring beers at the end of the brewing process.

Hop pellets

Hop pellets are aromatic or bitter hops in compressed form. Because they are practical to store and use, this is the most common type. Again, the bitterness of the hops is given in % alpha acid and usually ranges from 4% to 17% alpha.
